Transition to School

Our support continues as children move into Reception. We know that change can feel overwhelming. To ease this transition, we keep the small group model in place until October.

During this time, key adults guide children through carefully planned learning experiences and activities. This ensures emotional support, consistency, and meaningful learning conversations.

Once children feel secure, we introduce short whole-class sessions. These are limited to 15 minutes. They help build attention, cooperation, and readiness for the next stage—without losing the focus on each child’s needs.

This approach provides a developmentally appropriate bridge from nursery to school life. It respects the pace and needs of the child, not just the structure of the curriculum.
