Art

Through our curriculum, children are able to explore and acquire new knowledge and skills to allow them to build their resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness and reciprocity within the arts. We support our children to enjoy the arts, to connect with and take part in the wider arts world, and develop their creativity and critical ability, communication and leadership skills. They will develop an understanding of their own and others cultural heritages through the study of a diverse range of artists while completing Arts Award. It works hand in hand with our wider curriculum and simultaneously allows for children to reflect on the importance of curating an exhibition of their own work and how to communicate their visions with the wider world. Children also recognise a wide range of arts and cultural activities, including performing arts, visual arts, literature, digital and media and heritage activities. The impact is children get to enjoy different art forms, reach their widest possible potential within the arts and gain experience and understanding of arts and cultural organisations.
